History was made at the University of Cape Coast as the pioneer class of the School of Pharmacy (RX25) successfully completed their academic journey, writing their final paper on Monday 25th August, 2025.
A training workshop to build the capacity of selected Faculty Members from the College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS) on Grant and Proposal Writing is underway at the Conference Room of Coconut Grove Hotel in Elmina.
The workshop, which will span a five-day period, is being organised by the Biomedical and Clinical Research Centre-UCC in collaboration with African Centre of Excellence for Population, Health and Policy, as well as Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria.

The School of Optometry and Vision Sciences (SOVS) at the University of Cape Coast has successfully held its maiden White Coat Ceremony, robing 55 Level 400 students as they officially transition into their clinical training phase in pursuit of becoming certified eye care professionals. Mr. David Nii Commey Ankrah, a Level 100 student at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Cape Coast (UCC), has been adjudged the Best Performing Candidate in West Africa for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates.
A proud alumnus of Hope College, Gomoa Fetteh, Mr. Ankrah emerged as the overall top performer in the sub-region in the examination administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

The White Coat ceremony is an integral part of Pharmacy education, emphasising the significance of the coat as the professional identity of Pharmacists and establishing defined expectations and responsibilities for students while still in training.
